Speaking after the game, Brazil’s team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, reveale that Alisson had ‘minor complaints’ after his collision with the Colombia defender.

‘Alisson suffere a head injury and was replace due to a suspecte concussion,’ Lasmar said.

‘We will now follow the CBF protocol, and he will undergo the recommende imaging tests, a CT scan and then a diffusion MRI. If all the tests are normal, we will procee and perform a cognitive test. Then we will evaluate the player.

‘If everything is normal, we will continue to monitor the situation over the next few days. Today, we will do the tests and all the necessary assessments.

‘I believe you saw the images of him on the bench and after the game. He is completely normal now, without any complaints. During the treatment on the pitch he did not report any fainting or memory loss, he was conscious and oriented the whole time.

‘We substitute him because he had minor complaints, he thought he was a little slower and there was some possibility of a concussion, so in cases of this suspicion, the recommendation is to substitute the player.’
